VoiceThread can be used in different content areas by almost any age group. The first sample can be found at the itt wiki.

 

Voice Thread Lesson Plan Overview

Objectives

 

Students will use Internet resources to support the creation of stories that will be recorded and documented to foster a positive learning experience while meeting Alaska Content Standards in Language Arts and NETS.

A.) A student should be able to speak and write well for a variety of purposes and audiences.

 

  • apply elements of effective writing and speaking; these elements include ideas, organization, vocabulary, sentence structure, and personal style; write well for a variety

  • in writing, demonstrate skills in sentence and paragraph structure, including grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation;

  • in speaking, demonstrate skills in volume, intonation, and clarity;>

  • write and speak well to inform, to describe, to entertain, to persuade, and to clarify thinking in a variety of formats, including technical communication;

  • revise, edit, and publish the student’s own writing as appropriate;

  • communicate ideas using varied tools of electronic technology; and

  • evaluate the student’s own speaking and writing and that of others using high standards.

 

NETS Standards

The next lesson plan, Children's Book, was uploaded by Tonia Johnson to Scribd. It is using www.voicethread.com to teach story elements and sequence of events. After reading a short story and discussing the literary elements, the students will write their own story,record the story using VoiceThread and comment on other students' VoiceThread stories.
